YOUNG TURK WINDS GOLD MEDAL IN JUNIOR CADET

The Turkish Karate Federation has announced that one of their young fighters EnesOzdemir has a won gold medal at the ongoing World Karate Federation (WKF) Junior Cadet. The young Turk won the medal on the first day of the championships in Santa Cruz De Tenerife. Ozdemir beat JutaHibi from Japan to win the medal and become the new world champ.

“I would like to thank all my coaches for teaching me karate. I am very happy to bring this medal to my country. I gave all my best in the final, so I think I deserved the medal,” the excited fighter said. Read more »

Velasquez Takes His Health Seriously

he former UFC champion of heavyweight Cain Velasquez is yet to return to the wrestling field as he underwent back surgery.


He updated his health status on the social media which made his fan followers happy and eager. The surgery took place in January and it was successful by the grace of God. The player is hopeful that this kind of issue does not crop up once again. Velasquez is listening to his body and also following the advices of his medical team. He has decided to take it easy and is making every effort to stay in shape. However, getting back into shape to fight will take some time. There is no timeline as of now, but he will certainly inform the media and his fan followers when he is ready to fight.

The 34 year old Velasquez was all set to fight with Fabricio Werdum in December at UFC 207. However, he was forced to stay away for medical reasons. He fought for American Kickboxing Academy in 2016 when Travis Browne was knocked out of him in the first round at UFC 200. Read more »

VELASQUEZ OUT OF UFC 207

Ex- UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez has been considered medically unfit to fight by the Nevada Athletic Commission thus will not be permitted to fight Fabricio Werdum at T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 30.

NAC executive director Bob Bennett revealed to the Review-Journal an ESPN report.

UFC authorities released a press release late Saturday afternoon verifying that Velasquez had been taken off the card.

Velasquez, who tweeted on Saturday evening he was not aware of any change to the status of his bout, told ESPN.com last week he had routine back surgical procedure for the week after the fight and was treating the pain with prescription Cannabidiol.

Bennett claimed the commission acted in the very best interest of the fighter’s wellbeing in exercising its influence to not grant Velasquez a license to fight based not just on his statements , but a number of factors that included a chat with Velasquez. Read more »

Cain Velasquez could be stripped of title if he misses March date

Ultimate Fighting Championship or the UFC Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez will not be given too much time to recover from his injury and to get back to the ring. The UFC had stripped former UFC Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz after he failed to defend his title for two years following an ACL injury but Velasquez will not be given so much time.

According to Dana White, the president of the UFC, if there are any delays or if the Cuban American suffers any setback on his return from injury and can’t make his scheduled return in March, he will have no other option but to strip him of his title.

White stated that the UFC is heading in that direction, adding that the next fight in Mexico will be for the interim UFC Heavyweight Championship and if Cain Velasquez cannot return on time to defend his belt, the interim champion will be crowned as the lineal champion. Read more »
